Cairn India today said it will commission a 600-km pipeline to transport Barmer crude oil to Gujarat, by March.
"We have today laid the last of the pipes in the ground and now we would test the pipeline before commissioning in this quarter," Cairn India Director (Strategy) P Elango told reporters here.
Cairn, which currently transport crude oil produce from its Rajasthan field by trucks, will save $5 - 6 per barrel in transportation coast.
Currently, the transportation cost is $7 per barrel and after commissioning of pipeline it will come down to $1.
