Cal Univ, Cognizant, NHSM in 3-way alliance

Calcutta University, Kolkata's Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) and Durgapur-based NHSM Academy are likely to get into a three-way tie-up for personnel training and human resource development.

CTS and Cognizant Academy will sign a memorandum of undertanding (MoU) with Calcutta University for imparting management and software training to 366 professionals recruited by CTS in Kolkata for its city-based operations.

Calcutta University on its part would be entering into a back-to-back strategic tie-up with NSHM Academy for outsourcing the training of the 366 professionals. NSHM would be setting up cemprehensive infrastructure in Kolkata, where the training will be imparted.

Sources claimed it was perhaps the first such industry-institute partnership in terms of scale in Kolkata, and certainly a first for Calcutta University.

Calcutta University officials reportedly visited the premises of NSHM Academy recently and endorsed the arrangement.The training is expected to last three weeks. Sources said more such tie-ups are expected in the days ahead.
