Paris-Headquartered Capgemini, providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services today inaugurated a new facility at Talwade, Pune. The new centre has a seating capacity of 2,800 people.
Capgemini already has around 4,000 employees in Pune in its campus in Talawade. “The new centre will provide a full range of IT services, including application development and management and infrastructure support. The Pune centre will also focus on delivering our financial services to the clients across the globe and is set to play an important role in contributing to Capgemini’s innovation pool,” said Salil Parekh, CEO Application Services One at Capgemini.
Parekh also added that the investment is recommitment of the company to the country and the region. The expansion of the company's presence in Pune and in India is part of its three year road map, under which it plans to have 50 per cent of its workforce from low cost regions. Within this India has bulk of its employee base followed by regions like Philippines, and Poland.
