Domestic passenger car sales declined by 1.71 per cent in July to 87,724 units from 89,250 units in the same month last year.
According to the figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), motorcycle sales in the country during the month was up by 21.91 per cent at 4,57,178 units as against 3,75,004 units a year-ago.
Total two-wheeler sales in July jumped by 19.47 per cent at 5,99,369 units compared to 5,01,691 units in the same month last year.
Commercial vehicle sales during the month increased by 1.93 per cent to 34,359 units from 33,709 units for the year-ago period, SIAM said.
