Total sales grew 17 per cent to 48,425 units during the month against 41,390 units in June last year, with 3,799 units exported in June this year, up 11.9 per cent from exports of 3,395 units in June 2005, a company statement said. |
Sales of Maruti 800 stood at 7,796 units in June, up 22.1 per cent from 6,387 units in the same month last year. |
Sales in the domestic B segment "� comprising Alto, WagonR, Zen and Swift "� grew 10.2 per cent to 27,228 units compared with 24,703 units in June 2005, while sales in the C segment (Baleno and Esteem) rose 22.3 per cent to 2,680 units compared with 2,191 units sold last year in June. |
Hyundai Motor India achieved a growth of 56.2 per cent in the domestic market over the same month in 2005, selling 17,032 vehicles. The company's cumulative sales during the month stood at 27,251 units, an overall growth of 39.6 per cent over June 2005. |
Sales in the overseas market in June stood at 10,219 units, a growth of 18.6 per cent over the same month in the previous year. Hyundai Motor India sold 1.48 lakh units in the first six months of 2006, a growth of 20 per cent over the same period in 2005. |
While the domestic sales during January-June 2006 were 91,273 units, a growth of 16 per cent over the same period in the previous year, overseas sales stood at 56,363 units, a growth of 27 per cent. |
Tata Motors reported a jump of 37 per cent in sales at 45,223 units in June against 33,018 units in the same month last year. The company said its domestic sales of passenger cars were up 27.8 per cent at 18,463 units. |
On the commercial vehicles front, the company registered a rise of 38.9 per cent in domestic sales in June at 21,565 units compared with 15,530 units in the same month a year ago. |
Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles were at 11,808 units, a rise of 23.3 per cent over June 2005, while that of light commercial vehicles stood at 9,757 units, a growth of 63.8 per cent over June 2005, the company said. |
General Motor India posted an increase of 53 per cent in domestic sales at 3,346 units in June compared with the 2005 June figure of 2,183 units. |
The company sold 1,961 units of multi-utility vehicle Chevrolet Tavera, 379 units of sedan Chevrolet Optra and 1,006 units of the mid-size Chevrolet Aveo during the month, it said in a release. |
