Carborundum Universal has signed a partnership agreement with South African firm Cerdak to market its wound treatment devices in India. "This would enable the company to enter the bio-ceramics verticals," M M Murugappan, chairman of Carborundum Universal, said. Carborundum Universal could later venture into manufacturing the products at its alumina ceramic facility at Hosur, Murugappan added. "Depending upon the market reaction, Cerdak would think of investment in a joint venture with Carborundum Universal to set up a manufacturing plant," Cobus Kotze, CEO of Cerdak, said. The wound treatment device consists of a fabric sachet filled with microporous ceramic granules. It promotes the natural process of healing in an effective way, Kotze added. |
