Hyderabad-based Care Hospitals group has signed agreements with KIMS Hospital of Bilaspur and RIMS (Raigarh Institute of Medical Sciences) of Raigarh to manage both the facilities as part of its network on an operations and management (O&M) contract.
These additions will take the group to 15 hospitals across south and central India with a total capacity of over 2,000 beds. Care Hospitals has entered into both O&M agreements through its subsidiary Ramkrishna Care based in Raipur.
KIMS is a multi-specialty hospital of 200 beds capacity while RIMS is a 150 bed multi-specialty hospital. With these facilities, Care would now have four hospitals in Chhattisgarh and would be the largest network in the state.
“The O&M model has the advantage of faster ramp up of capacity and quicker expansion of footprint. It is a win-win for both partners as the added hospitals benefit from the brand, clinical and managerial talent, processes as well as economies of procurement of the parent network. However, it is very important to have the right partners and a shared vision for such agreements to sustain,” Care chief executive officer, Dilip Jose, stated in a press release here on Wednesday.
