Hyderabad-based college planning and career counselling startup Univariety is planning to reach out to 500 schools under Phase 1. At present, it is providing its services to 80 schools and by the end of the current financial year, it is targeting to take this number to 150.
According to Varun Aggarwal, its managing director, Univariety sets milestones for students at each level. "For example, an Intermediate first year student is given an option to select 2-3 courses, and in the next three months we provide them with all course-related information helping her pick a single course," he said.
Its career experts constantly scrutinise students academic performance. Backed by a two-year performance report, it suggests students on best universities in India and abroad and also various scholarships available.

This has helped it bring down the service price to Rs 25,000 from Rs 2 lakh, a year ago. It has till date helped 10,000 students across eight cities in India find the right college.The company's pan India headcount stands at 70, including 50 in Hyderabad. Schools including Oakridge, Gitanjali, Chirec, Hyderabad Public School have been availing its services. In terms of revenues, Hyderabad ranks top, followed by New Delhi, Mumbai.
Univariety hopes to clock a revenue of Rs 4-5 crore this financial year, and achieve breakeven by December. It registered revenues of around Rs 60 lakh in FY13. In case of any fresh funding, it said it would be through internal accruals.
