Danish beer giant Carlsberg is all set to expand the market for its strong beer 'Okocim Palone' in some parts of the country. Okocim Palone, which is already sold in Northern and Western India, would now be made available throughout the country by end of this month.

Okocim Palone is a premium strong beer targeted toward young males and has around seven per cent alcohol content in it, a company statement said.

In India, Carlsberg operates through a global joint venture, South Asia Breweries Private Ltd, and at present has four breweries in India.

"I am sure Okocim Palone will be very popular with the young male segment, who like their beer strong. Okocim Palone is already very popular in the states we have already launched in and I am sure this brand will be greatly appreciated across the country,” Pradeep Gidwani, Managing Director Carlsberg said.

It has been awarded the Superior Taste Award 2005 by International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi), an independent organisation that assesses and awards the best flavors in the food and drinks categories, the release added.
