India's largest international hotel company Carlson plans to add 20 new hotel properties by 2011, a top company official said.
"We are opening five hotels in 2010 and plan to add at least 15 hotels in 2011 in India," Carlson's President and Chief Executive Officer Hubert Joly said in a statement here.
"We are delighted to be bringing great hotels to the market across our brands and to have such a strong infrastructure and team here in India," Joly said.
The global hospitality and Travel Company currently has 2,865 rooms in 30 hotels and by 2015 with additional 100 hotels the total room count will be 11,200, he said.
Carlson, which opened three hotels in the first half of the year, is scheduled to open another five hotels by the year end. These include the 178-room Radisson Hotel New Delhi Paschim Vihar, the 120-room Radisson Hotel Rudrapur, the 73-room Country Inn & Suites Gurgaon, the 94-room Park Plaza Ahmedabad and the 80-room Park Plaza Faridabad.
The company has also signed two new hotel agreements in west and south India for the 275-room Radisson Blu Hotel Mumbai Malad and the 110-room Park Plaza Coimbatore.
Minneapolis-based, Carlson encompasses more than 1,075 hotels, including Radisson and Park Plaza. It also has 1,000 restaurants, including TGI Friday's and Pick Up Stix. It operates in more than 150 countries and employs about 150,000 people.
