Castrol's profit up 29.2 per cent Riding on lower raw material costs and increase in prices of products, lubricants company Castrol India recorded a 29.2 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 41.5 crore in the first quarter ended March 2007 compared with Rs 31.2 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The company, which follows a January to December financial year, saw its net sales rise 17.7 per cent to Rs 442.1 crore during the quarter from Rs 375.7 crore in the previous corresponding quarter. |
MindTree bottom line rises 66% |
IT and R&D services company, MindTree Consulting, which was recently listed on the Bombay Stock and National Stock Exchanges (BSE and NSE), has registered a net profit of Rs 90.05 crore for 2006-07, up 66.1 per cent when compared with the previous year. The company's revenue also increased by 31.5 per cent to touch Rs 590.35 crore over the same period. |
CESC Q4 net up 39% |
CESC, the power generator and distributor serving the Kolkata area, reported a 39 per cent rise in net profit in the fourth quarter (Q4) of January-March 2007, to Rs 61 crore compared with from Rs 44 crore during the corresponding quarter last year.CESC said in a release that higher profit was achieved despite a drop in tariff and lower demand caused by the jute mill strike, which resulted in sales dropping from Rs 605 crore in Q4 last year to Rs 576 in Q4this year. |
