CDK Global Inc, a Nasdaq-listed provider of integrated IT and digital marketing solutions for the automotive retail industry, today launched its India operations by inaugurating a facility each in Hyderabad and Pune.
The US-based company, which was spun off from human capital management solutions company Automatic Data Processing Inc (ADP) in October 2014, has invested $15 million (around Rs 95 crore) worth capital in its Hyderabad and Pune facilities, which are spread over 100,000 sft and 56,000 sft respectively.
“We do not have direct customers in India at this stage. Our India operations will focus on R&D, product development, analytics and act as support centres. They will lead strategic operations here. We will leverage the talent pool and utilise their services to grow globally,” Steven J Anenen, chief executive, told mediapersons.

Stating that the company had already hired 800 associates across its Hyderabad and Pune centres, he said it intended to hire 300 more during this calendar, and look at hiring more engineering talent to take the headcount to 1,500 over the next three years.
According to Anenen, the auto industry is currently undergoing a tremendous transformation, and CDK perceives a $40-billion opportunity in this sector globally.
CDK Global, with revenues of $2 billion, currently has over 26,000 customer sites in 100 countries. The company’s digital marketing solutions generate one billion ad impressions, 36 million inventory searches and 14 million website visitors per month. Through integrated phone systems, it generates 1.5 million phone and email leads per month for its customers. CDK annual operating expenses in India would be worth $35 million every year, he said.
