Cement tags to rise further

 In Mumbai, the retail price of the 50 kg bag will improve by Rs 5 to Rs 145, while wholesale prices will rise by Rs 3-4 to Rs 137-138.

 Retail prices of the 50 kg bag in Delhi, Jaipur, and Amritsar will increase to Rs 114, Rs 110, and Rs 144.

 Cement prices had witnessed an increase of Rs 3-5 per 50 kg bag in the first week of October in Mumbai, which has been sustained, industry sources said.

 The price hike is on the back of demand picking following the receding monsoon as well as the onset of the festive season.

 A leading cement stockist in Mumbai said major cement manufacturers such as the Associated Cement Companies, Gujarat Ambuja, Grasim Industries and Larsen & Toubro have announced the price increase for Monday today itself.
