Central Bank's net profit up 20%

Central Bank of India's gross NPAs were Rs 7,509.72 crore, up from Rs 2,882.83 crore in the previous year

Central Bank of India today posted 20% rise in net profit at Rs 335.95 crore for the first quarter of 2012-13.

The bank had net profit of Rs 280.78 crore during the April-June quarter of 2011-12.

During the quarter, the total income of the bank rose to Rs 5,624.97 crore, from Rs 4,840.14 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, it said in a filing to the BSE.

Central Bank of India's gross non-performing assets (NPAs) was Rs 7,509.72 crore, up from Rs 2,882.83 crore in the previous year.
