Century Textiles & Industries today reported a net profit of Rs 71.54 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 as against Rs 74.79 crore in Q2FY07. According to a release issued to the BSE today, total income moved up to Rs 784.95 crore from Rs 760.05 crore in Q2FY07. "During the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2007, the revenue in respect of the activities of discontinued textile operations at Worli, Mumbai, amounted to Rs 1.59 crore and Rs 4.79 crore, respectively, and the loss in respect of the same amounted to Rs 5.27 crore and Rs 9.93 crore, respectively. There is no change in the status of matters relating to the dispute with the remaining few workers of the non-operative textile mill at Worli, Mumbai. "As a result of cessation of manufacturing operations at the textile mill at Worli, Mumbai, the results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2007 are not comparable with those of previous corresponding periods," the release added. |
