Century Textiles Q3 net up 254%

Century Textiles and Industries today reported a 254% rise in its net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2004, at Rs 31.86 crore as against Rs 9 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal.

Net sales during the reporting quarter were up at Rs 649.19 crore as against Rs 549.77 crore in the same period of 2003-04, the company said in a release.

Net profit for the nine months ended December 31, 2004 rose to Rs 69.99 crore as compared to Rs 34.21 crore while net sales rose to Rs 1,844.50 crore.

Cement constituted Rs 287.68 crore, while textiles amounted to Rs 214.63 crore of the third quarter sales, the release added.
