With a view to provide complete online communication tools at a very low cost to the education sector, two incubatees of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A)'s Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship have entered into an agreement.
As part of the Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) signed by CEON Solutions and VMukti Solutions, schools, colleges and parents can share Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, video conferencing and other documents through a single software for complete online communication.
The software from CEON, called ischool and icampus software is a fully integrated and intelligent software solution to automate and enhance the quality of work at schools and colleges with a single point of control. The software is uniquely aligned to meet the needs and budgets of diverse schools and colleges throughout the country.
“CEON and VMukti have signed an MoU for technical collaboration and joint business development to provide schools and colleges with the best ERP and video conferencing at low cost. While the data comes from our ERP software, VMukti will provide video conferencing and document sharing. The advanced software will help connect all the computers together instead of the need to connect it to a server. So, parents, faculty and students can avail of video conferencing, powerpoint sharing and other important information all at the same time,” says Abhay Panjiyar, chief executive officer of CEON solutions.
Under the 65:35 agreement between VMukti Solutions and CEON Solutions, the former would be offering its voice, video, web as well as content conversion products to the latter’s client. "As per our agreement, CEON will act as a system integrator for our products. Since we are trying to focus on as many industries as possible, this agreement will help us venture into the education sector which forms CEON’s domain," said Hardik Sanghvi, chief executive officer of VMukti Solutions.
While by the end of the financial year 2008-09 the company expects to earn a revenue of Rs 50 lakhs under this joint venture, VMukti expects its earnings through the agreement to be around Rs 4-5 crore by 2010. The Ahmedabad-based company specialises in multi-point unified communications technologies, rich media conferencing and other innovative services. VMukti offers several software applications like multi-party web conferencing, social networking application, IP PBX, and webcasting.
