Industry associations are not prepared to put any stock on the exit polls. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) yesterday said it was too early to take a call on the fate of the contesting parties.

Both the chambers agreed that the exit polls were not a reliable indicator and a hung Lok Sabha would not take a toll on the reform process.

"It is difficult to believe the exit polls and they could be misleading at times. We have reached a stage when growth is imperative and the country should not be bothered about who is on the seat. The focus should be more on stability and performance of the party at the Centre," Ficci chief YK Modi told Business Standard.
