Chandigarh draws attention of major hospitality chains

With ‘The Chandigarh Ashok’, an ITDC accommodation chain hotel, opening new four-star property in Zirakpur, it shows how Chandigarh and its surroundings are fast becoming cynosure for the biggies from the hospitality sectors.

While the ‘The Taj’, flagship brand of hotel chains by Taj resorts and palaces, was forerunner in making Chandigarh their destination, other

hospitality majors are having new plans to open their accommodation.

The Bharat hotel group which operates under the banner ‘The Grand’ is all set to enter Chandigarh with their new hotel coming in IT park. Similarly, Sarovar Hotel and resorts, one of India’s leading hotel management company, is all set to launch their second property in Chandigarh, James Plaza.

 

Even the Lalit Suri group which operates hotel chains under the banner Lalit group has also announced their plans to come up with luxury hotel in Chandigarh.

The officials from ‘The Taj’-Chandigarh maintained the city basically is an upcoming city with a lot of development taking place it holds promise for hotel players.

Representatives from ‘The Chandigarh Ashok’, maintained, with the expansion of industrial and business profile, the city was turning into a major corporate destination.

Pradeep Kalra, senior vice-president (sales and marketing) Sarovar Hotel and resorts, maintained, the city itself was an attractive proposition for the hospital-ity sector to come in.
