Harley-Davidson, the US-based heavyweight bike maker, opened its dealership outlet here on Friday.
Continuing with its plans of entering the Indian market, the company opened its second outlet after inaugurating its Hyderabad outlet.
Harley-Davidson Motor Company India (P) Ltd Managing Director Anoop Prakash said: “ By March 2011, we will have five dealers across India, adding Delhi, Mumbai and Banglore to the list. Depending on the response, we intend to open outlets in Chennai, Kolkata, Gujarat and Kerala, too.”
However, he refrained from commenting on sales figures and mentioned India as among the few countries that has a great potential for gro-wth.
The Chandigarh dealership will offer the entire 2010 Harley-Davidson (H-D) India line-up of 12 motorcycles models, in addition to riding gear, apparel and merchandise.
The price bracket falls between Rs 6.9 lakh (883cc model) and Rs 35 lakh (1,800cc model).
