China-based SANY Group, a leading global major in construction machinery industry, today inaugurated its first manufacturing facility at Chakan near Pune.
The state-of-the-art facility includes a comprehensive manufacturing set-up, product design and customisation center, sales, renting, service, storage, logistics & full fledged R&D centre.
The centre will manufacture trailer-mounted concrete pump, truck-mounted concrete pump, concrete mixer truck, concrete batching plant and motor grader and cranes, a company release said.
India, being it's second manufacturing facility in Asia, the company's expanded capacity and R&D centre will enable it to create and develop new construction machinery technologies and to custom-tailor these to suit specific Indian market conditions.
The new facilities are designed to supply equipments, components, design and R&D to the Indian marketplace and additional Asian African and the Middle-Eastern markets.
The facility was launched by Maharashtra Minister of State for Industries Sachin Ahir in the presence of Chinese Governor Zhang Chunxian and Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan.

Speaking on the occasion, Xiang Wenbo, Founder and President of SANY Group, said, "availability of a skilled work force, presence of good logistics and support from the Maharashtra government were reasons for the choice of Pune as our first offshore destination in India. This investment confirms our long term commitment to the country. This facility will help to achieve further profitable growth in the future."
