Chinese telecom equipment major ZTE might set up a manufacturing facility in Haryana, the Haryana government said today.

"ZTE has given indications of establishing a manufacturing facility at Manesar, Haryana, through its 100 per cent subsidiary company, Minister of State for IT and Telecom Shakeel Ahmad told Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

He said another Chinese company Huawei had hinted at setting up a manufacturing facility in India.

In another significant development, the state government has ruled out the introduction of any bill to regulate the use of mobile phones with camera.

The use of such phones for taking pictures is similar to using any other miniature camera attached with other device such as a pen or a cigarette lighter.

However, the use of such products solely depends on the user and offences like taking illegal photos using camera mobile phones are covered under the existing laws, Ahmad said.
