Choice Hotels to expand in Gujarat

Choice Hotels India, the budget hospitality chain with a presence in 30 properties across the country, is looking at expansion in Gujarat.
 
In the next two years, the chain will have at least four hotels in the state in addition to the two hotels it has built in Ahmedabad.
 
The company follows the franchisee model and has received interest in setting up a Comfort hotel in Rajkot, a Quality hotel in Jamnagar and, Comfort and Quality hotels in Ahmedabad.
 
Comfort Inns are the company's lower segment hotels which charges in the range of Rs 2,500 - Rs 3,500 per room per night. Quality is at a price point of Rs 3,500-Rs 5,000 and Clarion is priced at Rs 7,000 to Rs 11,000 per room.
 
This is in line with expansion taking place across the country with a Quality hotel in Uttaranchal, a Clarion in Ludhiana, a Comfort hotel in Amritsar, a Quality hotel in Chennai and a comfort hotel in Delhi. The company will have added five new hotels by the end of the year and plans for 15 new ones every year then onwards.
 
Recently, Choice Hotels entered into a contract with the Royal Indian Raj International Corporation to build 15,000 budget hotel rooms under their various brands. In Gujarat, some of the cities being considered following the agreement include Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara.
