CII tells Himachal to fix infra

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today appealed to the state government to give top priority to improve the infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh so that industry does not move out of the state in frustration as the Central excise package has already expired in the hill state.

The CII’s state annual session was attended by industry captains from all over the state as and top state government officials.

“There should be a good road, rail and air connectivity, affordable housing, education and healthcare facilities in and around industrial areas also,” said CII state council Vice-Chairman Rajiv Malhotra.

Malhotra made a detailed presentation on the infrastructure needs in the state and other issues of concern for the industry in the state.

 

CII state council Chairman Atul Khosla urged the state government to aggressively market the competitive advantages of the state for attracting investments, on the same lines as Gujarat.

CII Northern Region Chairman R M Khanna assured of confederation’s full support to the government for the extension of railway network in the state. State Chief Minister P K Dhumal said, both the state government and industry must join hands to build and promote industry and infrastructure in the state.
