CIL pays Rs 1,990 cr interim dividend to govt

State-run Coal India (CIL) today said it has paid Rs 1,989.65 crore interim dividend to the government.

CIL Chairman Partha S Bhattacharyya handed over the dividend cheque to the Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal, an official statement said.

In 2009-10, Coal India had paid Rs 2,210 crore as final dividend.

The final dividend for 2010-11 would be paid after the finalisation of accounts, it said.
