Cipla Q3 net up 16% at Rs 267 cr

Drug-maker Cipla Ltd has posted a 16% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 269.91 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The company's net profit for the third quarter last fiscal stood at Rs 232.69 crore, it said in a filing to the BSE.

Cipla's net sales increased by 14% to Rs 1,711.47 crore in the third quarter of 2011 from Rs 1,501.36 crore in the three months ended December 31, 2010.

For the nine months ended December 31, 2011, the company's net profit amounted to Rs 832.22 crore and its net sales totalled Rs 4,993.63 crore.

The firm's scrips settled at Rs 342.45 apiece on the BSE today, down 1.88% from their previous close.
