City Union Bank Q1 Net up 26.2% at Rs 73.88 cr

Total income for the April-June quarter soared to Rs 566.90 crore from Rs 417.01 crore registered during the same period last year

City Union Bank has reported 26.2% growth in net profit at Rs 73.88 crore for the first quarter ending June 30.

The Kumbakonam-based private sector bank had reported net profit of Rs 58.51 crore during the same period last fiscal.

Total income for the April-June quarter soared to Rs 566.90 crore from Rs 417.01 crore registered during the same period last year, the bank said in a statement.

For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012, CUB registered a net profit of Rs 280.25 crore, City Union Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer N Kamakodi said.

Total income for FY2011-12 stood at Rs 1,903.90 crore.

Shares of CUB were being quoted at Rs 54, up by 0.47% over the previous close in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
