Clariant organises tech seminar in Surat

Clariant, a leading global speciality chemicals company, organised a technical seminar at Surat on Wednesday evening. The company has presence in over 100 countries worldwide.

The event was held in order to inform technicians about its products. Addressing around 100 technicians, and all four distributors of Surat, Anjani Prasad, vice president, Clariant India, said, "The products and services of the five divisions of Clariant - textile leather and paper chemicals, pigments and additives, masterbatches, functional chemicals, and life science chemicals - are based on speciality chemicals, which play a decisive role in the manufacturing processes and upgrade the end products of the clients."

"We are the only company that supplies an entire range of products from one source," he further added.

Prasad also spoke about the ecological needs, requirements of global textile brands, environment-friendly products and gave details about the technologies and innovations used in the manufacturing of its products.

Stefan Ohren, Head of optical brightening agents (OBA) business worldwide, Leucophors, the new technologies offered on OBAs. He gave details about lightfast OBAs for cotton and polyamide, washfast OBAs for all textile substrates and low temperature OBAs for polyester.

He also spoke about the new products that have been launched for polyester segment in the Indian market.

The seminar also focused on the finishing range product offered by Clariant. The company's vice president spoke about deodorant finishes, anti-fungal products, oil and water repellents, flame retardants, and other such products under the company's umbrella. The illustrations and demonstrations of the products were part of the event.
