Mumbai-based Classic Marble Company (CMC) havig expanded its presence in India is now exploring foreign shores. The first destination being Dubai.
CMC has recently set up a Marmo Classic Stone factory in Dubai. The company targets to export its engineered marble, quartz and import natural stones from other foreign markets. According to reports, the company has invested around Rs 8.5 crore in this facility.
Marmo Classic will also leverage Dubai to cater to the key markets of the GCC, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Currently, it exports 35 per cent of its total production to around 50 countries. In the last financial year, CMC had clocked turnover of Rs 400 crore.

In India CMC has been introducing new products. It now caters to categories like hospitality, real estate and commercial spaces and furniture.
"We are the first company to be taking the initiative to expose India to a wide range of imported natural marble, all under one roof. The company aims to be a one stop shop for marble, onyx, travertine, granite and limestone, engineered marble and quartz. More importantly, most marble companies in India and abroad generally specialize in either marble or granite but by offering an array of stones below one roof, CMC has carved an edge above all," said Vikas Kesarkar, vice president, Classic Marble Company.
The company also said that it has wide variety of products. For instance, its Kalingastone, an Italian design product, has five series under marble collection and 7 series under quartz. The marble series comprises of 54 different marble samples while quartz has 71 samples. The plant produces 30,000 sq feet composite marble per day and 10,000 sq feet of quartz every day.
Kesarkar added, "Over 500 of our products are manufactured at our facilities. The installation does not require the dismantling of pre- existing surfaces and the number of joints is reduced to the lowest possible quantity. The company has recently launched Iris Maxfine, a large size porcelain slab from IRIS Italy in Pune.
CMC at present has five factories, two for natural stones, one where Kalingastone is manufactured and the fourth one is the marble crushing plant. The fifth plant has been set up at Silvassa for resin production.
