Coal India chief to chair board meeting in Delhi

Sources said coal price was not on agenda in tomorrow's meeting

Coal India Chairman and Managing Director S Narsing Rao, who had submitted his resignation, will chair the board meeting in Delhi which will finalise the quarterly and annual results.

"Rao will chair the board meeting tomorrow in Delhi," CIL Director HR told PTI.

The meeting was initially scheduled in Kolkata, but was shifted to Delhi in the last minute.

Amid speculations that the CIL board could take up a 10- 15 per cent hike in prices of some categories of coal, sources today said coal price was not on agenda in tomorrow's meeting.

Rao, 56, plans to take up a new role as principal secretary to K Chandrasekhar Rao, Chief Minister of India's 29th state, Telangana, from June 2.
