| Coal India pays record dividend of Rs 1,705cr |

| Coal India (CIL) has paid record dividend of Rs 1,705 crore to the central government for fiscal 2007-08. Partha S Bhattacharyya, chairman, CIL, handed over the cheque of Rs 1,705.42 crore to Minister of State for Coal Santosh Bagrodia. CIL had paid Rs 1,500 crore dividend last year. CIL reported a provisional profit before tax and dividend of Rs 9,576.22 crore as against budgeted profit of Rs 8,462.31 crore in fiscal 2007-08, and an increase of 12% over the previous year |
