Coca Cola proposes to set up Rs 1,000 cr plant in Telangana

CM extends his govt's support, including identifying suitable land, for the plant

Global soft drinks major Coca Cola proposes to set up a Rs 1,000 crore plant in Telangana.

The company's executive vice president, Irial Finan, and its India regional head,T Krishna Kumar, met the state chief minister,K Chandrashekar Rao, on Monday and sought his government's support in this regard.

According to an official press release, Finan told the chief minister that Telangana was biggest market for Coca Cola in the country. He had also assured Rao that the company would participate in the community development programme of the state government.

The chief minister extended his government’s support, including identifying suitable land, for their plant.
 

Finan and Kumar have also met Andhra Pradesh chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, who was reported to have extended his cooperation for expansion of the company's operations in AP. The company executives assured Naidu that they would participate in skill development programmes in collaboration with the government.
 
Goutham Adani meets CM
Chairman of Adani group of companies, Goutham Adani,  also met the chief ministe on Monday. Briefing about the group's profile, Adani  was stated to have told Rao that it would be producing 20,000 Mw of power by the year 2020.

The chief minister said that there was a shortage of power in the state and he would be happy if Adani group came forward with its ideas to overcome the shortage.
