Cognizant inks pact with London-based Monitise

The companies will develop mobile banking, payments, and commerce solutions for making mobile payments easier

IT services company Cognizant Technology Solutions and London Stock Exchange listed Monitise have announced a global partnership. According to the new partnership both the companies will work together to help financial institutions embrace the mobile channel of interaction.

Through the alliance the companies will develop innovative mobile banking, payments, and commerce solutions for making mobile payments easier.

Monetise which counts financial majors like Visa, UMB, Frost Bank, PNC among others as clients said, "Our strategy is to help financial companies and banks expand their customer relationships."

“Mobile technology has the potential to significantly change consumer-facing industries,” said Mahesh Venkateswaran, Managing Director, Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud, Cognizant.

Recently, Infosys has also launched a mobile payment platform called WalletEdge based on the company's banking product Finacle. The Bangalore-based company also had partnered with Bharti Airtel to create a business model for mobile commerce called 'airtel money.’

Airtel money enables customers to make cashless payments and settlements through their mobile phones.
