Colgate net up 14%

Colgate Palmolive (India) has posted a net profit of Rs 30.88 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, up 14.49 per cent from Rs 26.97 for the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Total revenue increased 12.79 per cent to Rs 283.25 crore from Rs 251.11 crore. Net sales stood at Rs 278.12 crore, 10.75 per cent higher than last year which was Rs 251.11 crore. This was mainly due to an increase in Other Income which was Rs 5.13 crore.
 
Other expenditure for the half year ended September 30, 2005, includes a provision of Rs 7.5 crore towards diminution in the value of the company´s investment in its wholly owned subsidiary in Nepal, consequent to the discontinuation of toothpaste production at the Nepal facility.
