Colgate Palmolive announces second interim dividend

FMCG major Colgate Palmolive today announced second interim dividend of Rs 5 per share, entailing a total payout of Rs 79.3 crore by the company.

"The board has declared a second interim dividend for the financial year 2010-11 of Rs 5 per share of Re 1 each (face value)," the company said in a statement.

The dividend payout to the shareholders will be Rs 68 crore (Rs 79.3 crore inclusive of the dividend distribution tax), the statement said.

It (dividend) will be paid on or around December 24, 2010 to those shareholders whose names are on the Register of Members of the company as on December 15, 2010, it added.

Including the first interim dividend of Rs 10 per share paid in August 2010, the company has declared a total of Rs 15 per share for the eight months up to November 30, 2010.

For the financial year ended March 31, 2010, the company had declared a total dividend of Rs 20 per share.

The company's scrips closed at Rs 864.35 per share, down 1.43 per cent from the previous close on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
