Colgate today announced a net profit of Rs 23.18 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 - 24.93% lower as compared to Rs 30.88 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2005. Net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 320 crore - 15.05% higher as compared to Rs 278.12 crore in the corresponding quarter in 2005. Expenditure includes Rs 58.8 crore pre-tax and Rs 39 crore after tax on account of the voluntary retirement scheme implemented at the manufacturing unit in Sewri as a result of which the net profit for the quarter is lower in the quarter ended September 30, 2006. Total income for the company increased 17.5% to Rs 338.25 crore from Rs 287.87 crore in Q3FY05. The board of directors announced an interim dividend of Rs 4.25 (42.5%) per equity share of Rs 10 for the financial year 2006-07. |
