As many as seven firms have finalised their investment plans in the Boregaon food park in Chhindwara district. Boregaon on the border with Maharashtra has attracted sizable investments as compared to other food park. |
"Seven companies have lined up a combined investment of approximately Rs 1 crore for the Boregaon food park. They will produce varnish, paints, thinner, chemicals, hair oil and engage in engineering work," a government official from Jabalpur told Business Standard. |
Most of the firms are Nagpur-based and see potential in the district. Nagpur-based Varnishwala & Company has proposed an investment of Rs 10 lakh. The firm will generate at least 10 jobs in the area. |
Another firm Tushar Transformers has also been allotted land in the park. The firm will execute transformer repair work with an investment of Rs 16 lakh. |
Shri Nakoda Chemicals, another Mahrashtra-based firm will investment Rs 35 lakh in the park and generate maximum jobs. The firm is likely to generate 54 jobs. While New Jalgaon Engineering Works has lined up an investment proposal of Rs 13 lakh, the firm will generate at least 7 jobs. |
In view of abundance availability of Amla in Chhindwara- Mandla area, a firm Ayurved Asharam has planned to produce ayurvedic medicines with an investment of Rs 10 lakh. The firm will employ at least 8 persons, similarly another firm Jagruti Products will manufacture hair oil. |
The firm has proposed an investment of Rs 16 lakh to create employment to at least 5 persons. |
"All the seven firms have been allotted land are and we expect the commercial production of these companies will start within six months. |
Food parks, which are being developed under a Central government scheme have failed to pick up in Madhya Prudish despite necessary infrastructure and sops announced in Industrial Promotion Policy 2004. |
However Boregaon Food Park has attracted a sizable number of small and medium firms. Some companies and firms have entered into memorandum of understanding with Madhya Pradesh Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam to set up their units, while few firms have started production. |
