Competition, lack of sops crush cement units

 Eight mini plants in the region have already closed down, Natavarbhai Patel, secretary, Gujarat Mini Cement Plant Association, said. As many as 41 small plants produce cement in the Saurashtra region. Of this, 21 are in Rajkot district.

 Industry sources said three plants closed down in Morbi, two in the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation
