The best point about the Budget is its top priority to infrastructure, which is the biggest weakness of the country. I am happy that for Bangalore, in particular, the metro railway will receive central support.

Better infrastructure is the only need of the IT industry to further improve its impressive growth in global markets. The Budget also has several positive measures for the banking sector, including bank consolidation.

This is very important since it will further help kick-start the economy. I am happy to note that there are a lot of socially oriented measures in the Budget.

The government's intention to go ahead with the implementation of VAT by April 1 is a step forward in connecting the country into a single market.

The negative from the Budget is the absence of dramatic initiatives. However, a country is built through solid implementation and the Budget will be as good as the implementation that follows.
