OPEN OFFER

Carrier Aircon: DSP Merrill Lynch has informed on behalf of Carrier Mauritius that pursuant to the open offer made by Carrier Mauritius to the shareholders of the company, Carrier Mauritius has acquired 3,079 equity shares of the company on June 6.

SHARE DEALS

Tata Teleservices: The promoters of Hughes Tele.com India viz Hughes Electronics Corporation Ritambara Agent, Alltel Mauritius Holdings Inc, Kellertron Venture Corporation and First HNS Mauritius (collectively as sellers) entered into a share purchase agreement with Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL). HTIL is also a party to the agreement. Under the agreement TTSL have agreed to purchase from the sellers 714,317,891 equity shares of HTIL representing 50.83 per cent of the paid-up equity capital of HTIL.

 

Multibase: HSBC Securities and Capital Markets India Pvt Ltd has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that the acquirers (Dow Corning Corporation and Dow Corning France S A S) are deemed to have acquired Multibase which is the holding company of Synergy Multibase entitling the acquirers to exercise 76.8 per cent of the voting rights of SML.

Bright Brothers: The company has informed that T W Bhojwani (HUF) have acquired 50,000 (0.99 per cent) equity shares of the company by way of market deal on June 24. Their shareholding after acquisition will be 1,90,500 (3.76 per cent) shares.

Sterlite Industries: The board of directors of the company has deferred a decision on the recommendation of dividend for the nine months ended March 31 pending completion of the scheme of arrangement for purchase of equity shares of the company.

INSIDER TRADING

Kesoram Industries: In terms of regulation of SEBI, prohibition of insider trading, the company has been informed by Manjushree Khaitan, director that, she hold 109812 equity shares of the company.

OTHERS

Kotak Mahindra Finance: The company has informed the BSE that Business Standard Ltd (BSL) at present has a syndication agreement with Financial Times (FT). FT has in the past expressed an interest in taking up an equity stake in BSL subject to government policies. There are no talks regarding KMFL selling its stake in BSL to FT at present.

Ind-Swift: The company has bagged the DCGI approval for the manufacturing and marketing of the API and finished dosages of the drug Citalopram in India. Citalopram is an anti-depressant from the family of Drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake or SSRIs

Subex Systems: At an extra-ordinary general meeting held on June 27, 2002, the shareholders of Subex Systems voted in favour of both the resolutions put forth
