The Andhra Pradesh High Court today dismissed the bail plea filed by Price Waterhouse auditors - S Gopalakrishnan and Srinivas, accused in the case relationg to the financial scam at Satyam Computer Services.
The case came up for hearing last week but the orders were reserved for today.
The CBI argued that the two auditors have failed in their duties to reject inflated figures in the balance sheets for successive years. They were also party to the financial scam. There was no merit in saying that they did not identify the inflated figures or they simply relied on the documents provided by the company, the prosecution argued.
They have been arrested in January in connection with the financial scam at the Satyam Computer Services and housed at the Chanchalguda Central Prison. The lower courts have rejected the bail of the two auditors seven times so far. Consequently, they filed a petition in the High Court.
A lower court had last week extened the judicial custody of all the accused in the case till July 8.
