As part of its social obligations, CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India) is planning to train unskilled labourers from 10 select cities in the country, with the assistance of National Skilled Development Corporation (NSDC).
Accordingly, unskilled labourers from 10 select major cities in the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Kochi, are to be trained in the next three years.
This training project has already been started in Pune by NSDC and Rs 17 crore has been invested by it (NSDC) for the purpose. Around 20,000 unskilled labourers are reportedly being trained there.
“The proportion of unskilled labourers is high in real estate sector and there is a wide earning gap between skilled and unskilled labourers. With an aim to train these unskilled labourers, CREDAI, in association with NSDC, is planning to take this training project in select 10 cities in the country in the next three years. This will help them to increase their incomes by three-four times,” Lalit Kumar Jain, National President, CREDAI, said at a press conference here.
While talking on his priorities for CREDAI, he said, “We are focusing on extending the presence of CREDAI in cities with five lakh populations. The developer community is facing several problems relating to transparency in transactions. We, at CREDAI, have planned to tackle with this problem head-on and ensure customer delight in our transactions.”
