Crompton Greaves bags Rs 600-cr Power Grid order

Engineering major Crompton Greaves today said it has bagged contracts worth Rs 600 crore from Power Corporation of India (PGCIL).

"The contract has paved the way for us to enter into the ultra high voltage (UHV) segment. We expect to complete commissioning of 86 shunt reactors by July 2012," Crompton Greaves Managing Director S M Trehan said in a statement here today.

The company, a part of $4-billion Avantha Group, has bagged the order along with its Ukraine-based partner company, ZTR, for supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 86 shunt reactors of 756 kV, the highest system voltage in the country.

 

It expects to complete the project by July 2012.
