Crompton Greaves net up 38%
 
Crompton Greaves has posted a net profit of Rs 56.1 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, a growth of 37.73 per cent compared to Rs 40.73 crore reported in the previous corresponding period.
 
The company's net sales has increased from Rs 636.32 crore to Rs 810.21 crore in the previous corresponding period, a growth of 27.32 per cent.
 
The company has posted a net profit of Rs 163.05 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, compared to Rs 114.78 crore, a year ago, a growth of 42.05 per cent.
 
The company's total income has increased from Rs 1,999.4 crore to Rs 2,553.33 crore, a year ago, a growth of 27.70 per cent.
 
DCW net up 82% at Rs 9.9 cr
 
DCW reported a net profit of Rs 9.87 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, 82.43 per cent higher, as compared to Rs 5.41 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
 
The net sales for the period were Rs 169.55 crore as compared to Rs 193.94 crore last year, lower by 12.57 per cent.
 
The company also reported a net profit of Rs 27.26 crore for the financial year 2005-06, as compared to Rs 21.03 crore for the previous year. Net sales for the year were Rs 613.90 crore, as compared to Rs 675.11 crore.
 
ICI India net at Rs 11 crore
 
ICI India has posted a significant growth in net profit at Rs 10.61 crore in the quarter ended March 2006, as compared to a net loss of Rs 1.02 crore during Q4, 2004-05. Gross income grew by around 4.30 per cent, to Rs 214 crore from the previous quarter's corresponding figure of Rs 205.20 crore.
 
Total income stood at Rs 193.03 crore, 2.57 per cent higher than Rs 188.18 crore income during Q4, 2004-05.
 
For the financial year 2005-06, the company has posted 6.31 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 50.15 crore as compared to previous year's corresponding figure of Rs 47.17 crore.
 
Gross sales of the company crossed the Rs 1,000-crore mark, to Rs 1,009.57 crore, 16.42 per cent higher than the Rs 867.17-crore sales achieved during 2004-05. Total income stood at Rs 907.83 crore, as compared to previous corresponding figure of Rs 782.41 crore.
 
Sales in the paints segment grew by 20.86 per cent during the fourth quarter of 2005-06 at Rs 153.05 crore and by 21.17 per cent at Rs 674.52 crore during the financial year 2005-06.
 
Growth of chemical segment over the corresponding periods were 18.63 per cent, at Rs 61.55 crore in the quarter ended March 2005, whereas it grew by nearly 17 per cent at Rs 256.51 crore for the financial year 2005-06.
 
The company had divested its rubber chemical business with effect from December 28, 2005. The segment contributed around Rs 27.91 crore during Q4, 2004-05.
