Crompton Greavesis looking at another acquisition abroad, likely to happen in the next eight months. This is part of its strategy to go into the business of automation of sub-stations.
The company, a part of the $3-billion Avantha Group, operates in power systems, industrial systems and consumers products businesses. “We intend to enter into automation of electrical sub-stations and the company is exploring the possibility of acquiring an overseas company for technology,” said Sudhir Trehan, managing director, Crompton Greaves.
He would not divulge any more details. “It will take around six to eight months for the company to get into the business of automation of sub-stations. There is need for this, as they are currently handled manually,” he said at the fourth edition of Energy Expo 2009.
