Crompton Greaves (CG) will acquire compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) business of Karma Industries based in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. It has signed an agreement with latter for the same. After acquisition CG’s capacity will double in the CFL segment. Company plans to integrate this unit with its existing consumer business unit.
Laurent Demortier, chief executive officer and managing director, CG said, “The state-of-the-art facility can manufacture 2 million lamps per month, not only providing us with immediate capacities but also allowing us to offer a complete range of CFL lamps.”
This acquisition will help CG to move towards top position in energy-saving light source products, company said in a statement.
