Crompton Greaves wins Rs 239 cr offshore wind farm contract

The 43 wind turbines will generate green electricity for nearly 1,50,000 households

Crompton Greaves (CG), along with its consortium partners, has been awarded a Rs 239 crore contract for the construction of an offshore HV substation in The Netherlands.

Crompton Greaves  will design, deliver and install the high voltage offshore substation for the Luchterduinen project. The Luchterduinen offshore wind farm is located 23 km from the Dutch coast between Noordwijk and Zandvoort and has an installed production capacity of 129MW.

The 43 wind turbines will generate green electricity for nearly 1,50,000 households.

This is the sixth large offshore connection project secured by CG since 2008. The total orders booked by CG, along with its partners, for offshore wind connections to the grid amount to over Rs 1086 crore and include a combination of executed and unexecuted orders
 

CG CEO and Managing Director Laurent Demortier said, "The development of reliable and cost-effective grid connection solutions for the rapidly growing renewable sector is one of the key priorities for CG. We not only have developed a unique design but also a cost-efficient supply chain for serving this growing market segment.
