Computer Sciences Corporation of India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the California-based Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), has forayed into research and development as part of the global innovation programme of the company.

William S Buskrik, vice-president (architecture and design engineering) of CSC, said, "The parent company is going to support result-driven services from its India centres located in Hyderabad, Noida and Indore." Besides financial, global transformation and global infrastructure services, the Hyderabad and the Noida centres will also focus on R&D work," he added.

According to Buskrik, the R&D work would be in the areas of networks, storage and mobility.

"In the networking space it would be basically on converging of different networks, expanding to the current offering of voice, data and video over IP, and also on providing robust and secure connectivity," he said.

In the area of storage, the company wants to focus on information lifecycle management (ILM) and smart storage techniques. In the area of mobility, the company wants to concentrate on providing flexible and secured connectivity in wireless technology.

Buskrik said that the company hopes to keep the 75 per cent growth rate that it has seen over the last three years this year. "We would also be looking at increasing the manpower depending upon the need when ever it arises," he added. The company currently has 2,200 employees in India.

He said that the company is also planning to expand its Noida operations. "The centres here have already contributed to our success and will continue to play a more strategic role in the future," he said.
