Eyeing a manufacturing capacity of one lakh units a year, brushless alternating current generator manufacturer Cummins Generator Technologies (CGT) opened its new manufacturing plant in Ranjangaon on Monday. CGT plans to manufacture alternators in the range of 5KVA to 40KVA at the new facility.

"Apart from the domestic supply network, the new plant will work towards CGT's global requirements," CGT India managing director Pradeep Bhargava told mediapersons here. CGT's first facility in the country is located in Ahmedabad.

"The new plant in Ranjangaon has been planned to meet the global demand for the alternators market. The first phase of the plant is expected to manufacture 75,000 units a year," Bhargava said.

CGT has invested Rs 27 crore in the new plant, which will work in accordance with the company's other 10 manufacturing units across the world. As the global requirements are growing increasingly, it plans to to export as many units as possible from this facility, he added.
