Engine manufacturer Cummins today launched three new plants at Phaltan in Maharashtra's Satara district at an investment of Rs 500 crore.
These plants consist of a unit producing engines for commercial vehicles, power generation and industrial markets, an engine rebuilding centre and a facility for remaking engines and components.
"The new plants at Phaltan will enable Cummins to meet growing demand," the company said in a statement.
Cummins India Managing Director Anant Talaulicar said the expansion will cater to the increasing market demand and ensure that "we continue to serve our customers well".
